Community Payback – Minerva Street

February 2017

Community Payback are hoping to begin work on the strip of land between Minerva Street and the Staples/PC World Currys car park at the beginning of February.

Work will include the clearing of ground cover, raising the tree canopy – enabling more light at ground level and the painting of the ‘ankle breaker’ barriers in black.

We are grateful to Glasgow City Council’s Parks Department for creating a planting plan which will add colour, food for wildlife and will be low maintenance. A copy of the planting plan will follow shortly.

Thanks also goes to McDonalds on Finnieston Street who have agreed to litter pick this stretch of land and provide used coffee grindings which can act as a fertiliser.

We are now looking for donations towards the cost of these plants and also volunteers to help us plant and maintain our new garden. Should you want to help please leave a comment beneath or email us on yokecoco@gmail.com
