Minerva Street Rising Bollard?

11th May 2018

Following on from the Minerva Street Footway upgrade, we would like you views on a proposal to try to reduce the number of cars using St Vincent Crescent and Minerva Street as a pick-up point for guests exiting concerts at the Hydro.

Many who live on these streets will be aware of the traffic problems, which include:

  • On-street double parking
  • Illegal idling
  • On-footway parking
  • Excessive noise and pollution from vehicle fumes

We would like to explore whether the closure of Minerva Street’s junction with the Clydeside Expressway, between 21:30 and 23:59, on event nights, could result in less traffic problems.

We hope the proposal could reduce these issues whilst also enabling concert visitors a safer exit from the ‘Red Tunnel’ onto Minerva Street.
